The NASCAR series gets its first next-gen makeover, and the graphics are so good looking, our left eye overheated and started smoking. The big new feature that made us fill up our oil pans with joy: the new career mode called "The Chase," which challenges you to perfect all the special techniques—55 in all—that you'll need in order to win the big races. We're talking about pitting, drafting, passing, and being able to soak at least 18 bystanders with a single bottle of cheap champagne with one hand, while eating a chicken drumstick with the other. We tend to pick on NASCAR fans, you know, because they tend to be bucktoothed savages with buckets of wine coolers, sitting out on their moth-eaten lawn chairs, getting high from the downwind exhaust fumes, etc. But we confess, when this disc loaded up and we started jockeying for position at 180-plus miles per hour with 42 other drivers, we couldn't help but wonder if maybe these bucktoothed, hot-dog-devouring, Wal-Mart-shopping bastards aren't on to something after all.
