Fact: Video games have been stealing from John Woo for years. Without Woo and his awesome flicks, there would be no F.E.A.R., no Max Payne, and none of those god-awful The Matrix games. So it's about time the granddad of the slow-motion-look-out-you-assholes shoot-out lent his name to a game of his own. Stranglehold stars Woo's favorite subject: Chow Yun Fat as Inspector Tequila. You'll slide down stair railings, belly-surf on room service carts, and leap backward, all while firing your twin Berettas. Enemies spawn endlessly—just when you think you've cleaned out a room, there's always one last asshole who was apparently busy taking a shit when he heard gunfire break out. The action should be tedious, but those I'm-flying-through-the-air-filling-some-dopey-fuck-full-of-lead moments never get old. One more thing: Pick up the PS3 version. The Blu-ray disc contains the Woo classic Hard Boiled. Bottom line: Woo-t!
