Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction

The video game world's beloved comedy duo—Ratchet, the squirrel/weasel thing, and his straitlaced robot pal, Clank—make its first appearance on the PS3. How does it fare? Quite well. Unlike earlier installments that took too much time to get warmed up, this game drops you right into the shit. 'Nam-style shit. You'll be squaring off against evil robot hordes while the world, quite literally, is falling down around you. And since this is an R&C game, there are the usual host of predictably goofy weapons to fool with, such as the Groovitron, which makes your enemies involuntarily do the hustle while you murder them. With its sweet graphics and spot-on game play, this is easily the finest offering in the series. And it's genuinely funny, too. Way, way funnier than that fucking stupid Back to You show starring Kelsey Grammer.
