The Skinny: The decade-old racing sim gets a high-definition test drive on the PS3. Sporting more than 70 meticulously crafted recreations of real-world cars that you will never be able to afford in a million years, the game contains just about all the realism we can stand.

The Good: Polyphony Digital's on-going quest to make the most authentic racing sim on the planet makes this the equivalent of carnography, aka, car porn.

The Bad: Rides are still bizarrely resistant to damage. Even after crack-ups that would make Robbie Knievel cringe, the only thing that'll be damaged is your pride.

Clean As A Whistle Dept.: The world of Gran Turismo is, as usual, as sterile and humorless as a cancer ward. Seriously, Polyphony, would it kill you to throw a beer-drinking streaker or two into the game?

Buy, Rent, Disembowel? We'd say buy it, but take it for a solid rental test drive just to be sure.
