The Skinny: After the success of Guitar Hero III, can you blame Activision for finding any excuse to go back to the well?
The Good: Legendary rock group Aerosmith lays out the entire set list (25 Aerosmith singles and 16 songs from bands influenced by the rockers), so you're bound to find a song or two you'll dig. The game also breaks away from the generic tacked-on stories of previous GH. Other than that, you pretty much have Guitar Hero III with a fresh coat of screamo-rock paint.
The Bad: Hard-core strummers will find that this one’s a little easier than the others. On our first run through expert, we easily snagged four stars on all but a handful of songs. Then again, the point of these games is to revisit the music and go for a high score on the leaderboards.
Make It Nice! The band spent an extra week doing motion capture and wound up rerecording four of their singles specifically for the game.
Buy, Rent, or Disembowel? Buy it. If you love Aerosmith, you will love this game. 'Cause they are in it. Did you read anything before this?
