The Skinny:Gears of War + crystal methamphetamine = this game.
The Good: If first-person shooters like Halo and Call of Duty are too slow and, uh, real for you, UT3 will make you giddier than a strobe-lit Japanese kid on strawberry Pocky. You get everything PS3 owners have been getting for eight months now, plus five more exclusive maps, two characters, two-player splitscreen mode, a Double-Double from In-N-Out Burger, and all of the PS3 downloadable content released by Epic. (Editor's note: One of these items may or may not be included.)
The Bad: While the PS3 version supports user-created maps, this version has stripped that feature out.
Crawl of the Wild: One of the new vehicle additions to the series is the Darkwalker, similar to the tripod death machines from War of the Worlds. Sadly, their alien buttholes weren't accounted for the in game's design budget.
Buy, Rent, or Disembowel? The absence of user-creation keeps it from earning our undying affection, but it's a buy if you don't already have the PS3 version.
