The Skinny: The popular PC turn-based strategy game makes its debut on next-generation consoles. Pick from 16 famous world leaders and guide your civilization toward historical glory.

The Good: If you've ever played a Civilization game, everything you like makes the cut, and there are enough options in the game—like random placement of cities and resources, number of opponents, difficulty level, etc.—to ensure infinite replayability. Online multiplayer also features a "Game of the Week" option in which players around the world compete for the highest score on a specific map setting.

The Bad: Going from a keyboard and mouse to console controllers forced developers to tone down the micromanaging usually found in a Sid Meier game (good for casual gamers, bad for hard-core strategists). Also, the graphics used for battle sequences appear unpolished. Still, it's some of the best strategy game play you'll find on a console.

Civil Engineering: Playing through a few games will probably teach you everything you missed flirting with the girl sitting next to you in history class.

Buy, Rent, or Disembowel? Buy—anything less would be uncivilized.
