The Skinny: The World War II–themed arcade classic is remade yet again, this time for download on Xbox Live and PS3 Network.
The Good: It's a top-down scrolling game: You shoot things for 30 minutes; avoid dying; once you beat the game, you may want to revisit it in co-op mode and try out its different double-team moves. Then again, you could just co-op with your girlfriend and try out some double-team moves—no, really, she might like the lightning strike attack.
The Bad: If you're not into the whole nostalgia scene, you're going to get bored quickly. The combat is tired and old and the updated graphics don't make up for the lack of choice (only three weapons and three ships to choose from). You'll be hoping for WWII to end (again) as soon as possible.
Happy Birthday! 1942 is the same year Enron's Kenneth Lay, Senator Joe Lieberman, and serial killer John Wayne Gacy were born.
