Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro

When the original Spider-Man game was released, it was touted as the “best superhero game ever” (Who did they quote, Comic Shop Guy?) with good reason: Unlike some previous attempts at translating comic book action to video games, the Spidey game actually let you do “whatever a spider can.” This freedom of movement, combined with some ass-kicking action, delivered on the hype. While we live in a different world now (the PS1…how quaint), Spider-Man 2 polishes up the original’s style and delivers a worthy sequel. New costumes, new environments, new villains—and it’s all just as addictive as you remember. Of course, this is just an elaborate appetizer until Spider-Man: The Movie game debuts on the PS2 next year, but we’ll take it.
