Surf Riders

If your surfing expertise extends only as far as watching the Hawaii episodes of The Brady Bunch, this cheesy arcade-style surf simulator is for you. Playing as one of five fictional surfers, you choose from among 15 boards and ride the waves at beaches in Hawaii, France, Japan, California, and Australia. Paddle ferociously as an enormous curl crests above you. Tap a button to stand up on the board, another to crouch, and still another to pull backflips and midair spins, all accompanied by the groovy twang of surf music. Then, just like in competition, a panel of judges scores your performance. Sure, it sounds gnarly, but the frustrating control interface and primitive graphics make Surf Riders a wipeout.
