Terminator: Dawn of Fate

Release Date:
09/20/2002
Game Platform:
PS2, Xbox
Star Rating:
8 out of 10
Schwarzenegger may have signed on to play the indestructible T-800 again in Terminator 3, but he’s nowhere to be found in this first-ever console version. Fate also dispenses with T2’s cyborg-boy love plot, so you can focus on blasting titanium drones into nuts and bolts. Play as human hero John Connor and his resistance cohorts (including obligatory bazooka-toting babe), fighting for survival in a mech-controlled future L.A. The object: Rage against the killer machines in well-designed missions to bring down the evil Skynet. Yeah, Terminators die hard; luckily your heavy artillery and plasma baton make sure they don’t outlast their factory warranties. Though Arnie’s no-show is a mild bummer, play once and—you guessed it—you’ll be back.
