Ponce a few quid and head for the chippie, were back in jolly old England! The Getaway resumes two years later as you journey through Londons hyper-realistic underbelly playing three characters: Mitch (a violent policeman), Eddie (a violent boxer), and Sam (a thief
whos violent). Fun as this game is to play, the best moments come when you just sit back and observe. Wonderfully acted, written, and directed motion-capture cut scenes play like the Snatch follow-up Guy Ritchie should have made, further evidence of the narrowing gap between video game and movie production values. Branching story lines break up the linear narrative into multiple outcomes, but the environment is fully open and immense; the number of vehicles you can commandeer and steer on the wrong side of the road is nearly limitless. One thing to get used to: There are virtually no menus, meaning you have to follow the cues of the city around you (your car's blinkers tell you which direction to turn, for instance). Hollywood, you've got work to do.
