The Skinny: Quirky RPG from the folks who brought you the "is it a man or is it a woman" Final Fantasy series. It's set in Tokyo's Shibuya district, and stars a nerd named Neku who gets a message on his phone telling him that he will cease to exist unless he performs an assigned task.
The Good: Visually striking and oddly ambitious for a portable title. You can safely say that this game is entirely unlike anything else you'll play this year. Or last year. Or the year before that.
The Bad: Neku must restore hope to the city's citizens, according to the press copy for the game, by "using the coolest fashions." It burns us, it does!
The Artistic Stylings: You'll either love the game's unique art style, or it'll leave your eyes feeling as though they're looking at Kirstie Alley nude.
Buy, Rent, or Disembowel?Sample this game via rental before deciding whether or not it's a keeper.
