Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation

Tomb Raider pretty much pioneered the jugs ’n’ guns adventure-game genre, and for that, hey, we’re grateful. But aside from a slightly more rounded and realistic Lara Croft, this latest (and last?) version is about as much of a revelation as George Michael admitting he likes guys. Mostly there’s just more of the same pulling levers, scurrying around ancient burial sites, and searching for the lost what’s-it du jour offered by the previous three versions. And the clunky controls and endless sandstone-block backgrounds are great—if being sealed in a tomb is your idea of a good time. In other words, we’ll wait till Angelina Jolie fleshes out our favorite sex-bomb explorer on the big screen for our next Lara Croft fix.
