Like a skater armed with a new stylist and the latest copy of Thrasher magazine, this revamped installment in the Tony Hawk series is ready to hit the streets and turn some tricks…of the skateboarding variety. Though the Jackass-style mechanics (earn points by performing outrageous stunts) haven’t changed, the game radically benefits from the power of next-generation consoles: The face plants are so severe they’ll loosen your teeth, and the level designs have received some serious urban renewal, with all manner of obstacles both man-made (traffic) and natural (earthquakes) to harsh your mellow. Tony 3 makes it all seem so effortless, you might be tempted to try this at home. See you in the ER!
