Normally if you wielded a cue stick against a pack of pool sharks, you’d lose your paycheck…and your shirt…and your wheels. But with VP3, you can rack ’em up against outlandishly named characters Atilla Williams and Coolwhip Hurlbut without inviting financial ruin. Shooting with a slide of the mouse is awkward, but after you master it, you’ll hustle through virtual shithole pool parlors and yuppie bars (where the big sucker money is). The graphics are sharp enough to make you think you can scratch felt, and unlike in real life, you can view your prowess from a zillion angles. Get really good and you challenge real women’s champ Jeanette “The Black Widow” Lee in her beach house—where losing your shirt wouldn’t be so bad.
