Silly Rabbit, tricks are for people who can spell.

The Pitch: Taking the Scrabble formula used by Words with Friends and boosting the strategery factor by adding Trick Tiles that can double, triple or even quadruple your score.

What It Really Is: A Words With Friends rip-off that excels in its gameplay but face plants on connectivity. First, the good - Word Trick’s claim to fame are the green trick tiles that pop up in your rack. Playing words that include a string of three or more consecutive trick tiles will add a 2x, 3x or 4x multiplier to your final word score on top of any traditional bonus you picked up along the way. The end result is a Scrabble game that pays off clever wordsmiths with huge scores. Now the bad, you can be as clever as you want, but the only way you’ll be able to show off is allowing Word Trick access to your Facebook account. This might be fine to the Farmvillers, Mafia Warriors and slew of other people who don’t mind gumming up their account, but for anyone who likes their gaming to be far, far away from their social presence, this is probably a deal breaker.

Fun Fact: The highest reported score for a single word in Scrabble is 1780 for “oxyphenbutazone.” If you could even pronounce that we’ll toss you five points.

Who’s It For: If you’ve played so many games of Words with Friends that regular Scrabble rules are no longer a challenge, then Word Trick is going to be your new game of choice. Alternatively, if you feel a need to show you friends on Facebook that you’ve moved past your juvenile obsession with Farmville, Word Trick is a proud way to state that you are no longer an idiot.
