UFC Champ Ronda Rousey Smashes Faces, Needs a Hug

At UFC 157, Ronda Rousey took on Liz Carmouche and our stupid questions.

While Ronda Rousey may be the first female to ever win an Ultimate Fighting Championship bout, it hasn’t done much for her dating life.

“It’s odd, because it’s very hard for me to meet people. It’s not like I can go out somewhere and meet somebody. All the guys I really meet are fighters! So it’s a bit difficult; I have a lifestyle that doesn’t allow for much of a social life,” Rousey acknowledged. “But I am not really looking, because if you are looking, you are never going to find anyone!”

Rousey’s sold-out UFC 157 fight against the very worthy former Marine Liz Carmouche, was the pay-per-view headliner. Impressively, the bout, which took place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA, ended in the final seconds of the opening round, with Rousey successfully defending her bantamweight title.

“I feel like we really did live up to all of the hype around it, Rousey said. “I’m glad it was a full house. I’m honored to be part of it. This is something very special. It might take a while to sink in.”

To those fans who haven’t been supportive of her, Rousey added: “From the sound of what the crowd was like tonight, it seemed like everyone was really happy and really liked the show. Critics are going to criticize regardless. That’s why they call them critics. All the people who had a good time tonight, I’m happy you were entertained.”

Maxim.com asked about her sex symbol status.

“Since I’ve become a sex symbol, I’ve had less sex than since I was a teenager–men are frightened to come up to me now! So being a sex symbol isn’t working out for me so far!” Rousey quipped.

For now, Rousey is content to just relax. “For the next week, I’m probably going to fall totally off the grid as much as I can! If I see anyone, I’m not going to talk about me at all. No more talking about me for a whole week!”

As for any guy who does want to step up and ask Rousey, who is also the first American woman to earn an Olympic medal in judo, out, here’s two words of advice: grow balls. “If someone is not confident enough to ask me out, then that’s not the kind of man I want to hang out with!”
