Here are six very good reasons these women should be getting paid.
The amount cheerleaders are paid is legitimately shocking. Not shocking in the way that a football player's pay is shocking - the complete opposite, in fact. Cheerleaders get paid practically nothing (the Raiderettes' current annual salary stands at $1,250, or less than five bucks an hour), while still being expected to pay a lot of the expenses of the job themselves. Even that pitiful amount seems to be failing to reach the Raiders' squad, which is why they filed a law suit against the team this week, claiming the Raiders have been "engaging in wage theft and other unfair employment practices." The team have yet to comment, but let's take a look at some very good reasons why they'd be idiots not to encourage these girls to stick around.
