Where You've Seen Her: Mitchell's career began on Australian TV soaps like Neighbours (1994), where she actually played separate characters over her three-year stint. She was able to garner attention in 1997, when she starred in two Independent Spirit Award-winning films, High Art and Everything Put Together. More mainstream American films followed, such as Phone Booth (2003), Man on Fire and Finding Neverland (both in 2004), as well as leads in Woody Allen's Melinda and Melinda (2005) and the video game adaptation Silent Hill (2006). Her latest film is the futuristic murder-mystery Surrogates (out September 25), where she partners with Bruce Willis to solve a robotic crime conspiracy.
