How You Know Her: After winning the lead role for a pilot on Fox Family (which she ultimately turned down at age 13), Alaina actually began her career as a fashion model in Europe and Japan. It wasn't until she moved to the U.S. in which she became interested in acting, taking on roles in independent films during college. Moving to L.A. to pursue film, she built up a list of credits that includes Smallville and the Sci-Fi Channel (pre-SyFy) series Painkiller Jane. These days, this B.C. babe is starring as Tamara Johansen on SyFy's Stargate Universe.
