It’s an interesting dichotomy … the more painful a garment is to wear for a woman, the more a male seems to enjoy it. And when it comes to Hollywood starlets, rarely have so many ladies been willing to lace themselves up in constrictive, chest-enhancing corsets for the lads. (Come on, do you really think Salma Hayek wore that get-up in “Wild Wild West” because she was developing her character?) So in honor of their sacrifices, here’s a salute to the hottest corset-wearers in Tinseltown, in all of their top-heavy glory. (And we promise no photos of Andy Warhol wearing his own.)

Natalie Portman- Natalie Portman as Anne Boleyn in "The Other Boleyn Girl."

Salma Hayek- The best part about the movie "Wild Wild West" - dear, dear Salma Hayek as Rita Escobar.

Kate Beckinsale- Kate Beckinsale as Anna Valerious in "Van Helsing." Also known for wearing latex catsuits and corsets in "Underworld."

Charlotte Salt and Annabelle Wallis- Corseted ladies abound in Showtime's "The Tudors"-  Charlotte Salt as Lady Ursula Misseldon and Annabelle Wallis as Jane Seymour.

Helena Bonham Carter- Helena Bonham Carter as Mrs. Lovett in "Sweeney Todd."

Cate Blanchett- Cate Blanchett as the young queen Elizabeth I in "Elizabeth."

Gretchen Mol- Gretchen Mol stars as pin-up queen Bettie Page in "The Notorious Bettie Page."

Kate Winslet- We were forced to watch "Titanic," but Kate Winslet as Rose made it worthwhile.

Megan Fox- Megan Fox as Leila in the upcoming film "Jonah Hex."

Catherina Zeta-Jones- Catherine Zeta-Jones as Elena de la Vega in "Legend of Zorro."

Billie Piper- Billie Piper as Belle de Jour working with a client in "Secret Diary of a Callgirl." Bonus: not a period film or a western.

Angelina Jolie- Angelina Jolie as Jane Smith in "Mr. and Mrs. Smith." We really wish we had been one of those 312, Mrs. Smith.

Rhona Mitra- Rhona Mitra as Sonya from "Underworld: Rise of the Lycans."

Scarlett Johansson- Scarlett Johansson as magician’s assistant Olivia Wenscombe in "The Prestige."

Sadie Frost and Winona Ryder- Sadie Frost as Lucy Westenra and Winona Ryder as Mina Harker in "Bram Stoker’s Dracula." Yes, they share a brief kiss (no tongue, sadly) in the movie. In the pouring rain.  In their nightgowns.

Nicole Kidman- Nicole Kidman as Satine in "Moulin Rouge."

Zita Gorog- Although her role as Amelia in the first two "Underworld" films was small, we definitely remember Zita Gorog.

Keira Knightly- Keira Knightly as Georgiana in "The Duchess." Also complained about wearing corsets as Elizabeth Swann in "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl."
