Kelly Stewart
Strange, but suddenly we’re feeling a lot more interested in saving the rain forest.

Behind the model: The globetrotting requirements of being a model are nothing new for Houston-born Kelly, since her family also spent time in Paris and Düsseldorf. “I started modeling when I was 12, so I always traveled with my mom,” she says. “I was so mortified because, at that age, that’s just the worst thing imaginable, as far as being cool is concerned.”

The high life: “I was raised riding horses, and I still like to hang out at the stables. They’re such strong, sensitive animals.”

Extra exposure: Catch Kelly in the current Sisley fashion campaign.

Tales from the shoot: “We shot in the rain forest. I was sprawled out on the ground, which was really wet and marshy. I noticed there were ants crawling all over me. They weren’t bothering me too much, so I’m, like, All right, I can deal with this. The next morning I woke up and my whole body was covered with itchy red bumps. Not one of my most glamorous moments.”

The X factor: “What attracts me to a guy is always a bit mysterious. Physical attributes are far down on the list. I don’t want to sound New Agey, but it’s a spiritual connection, a guy who can relate to me on an emotional level rather than just as a plaything.”
