MICHELLE, 2011 SEMIFINALIST

Are you into smart guys?
I am into smart guys, because I enjoy learning from them and having good conversation -- it's sexy.

Do you like live theater?
I do enjoy live theatre. Acting in a broadway show is a dream I need to check off my list.

If you could go to any museum in the world, which one would it be?
If I could visit any museum in the world, It would be the Prado Museum in Madrid, Spain because it has one of the largest and most impressive collections in the world, including a bunch of works from Spanish artists like Goya, Velasquez, Murillo, and El Greco.

What was your favorite subject in school? Why that one?
My favorite subject in school was always drama, and art class, because I love acting and painting and creating things. Now in college, my favorite subject is psychology, because I can better understand the world and the behavior of others.

ELISSA, 2011 SEMIFINALIST

What date should a guy plan to impress you?
I’m a sucker for surprises. If there's something tastefully spontaneous or adventurous, I'm in! I would love a man to keep me guessing what's next. I'm not asking to be flown to different countries every time we see each other, I just don't like routines. Dinner and a movie gets boring after a while. I need more excitement! Introduce me to a new type of food, take me to an art exhibit, challenge me with a hike or intense bike ride, something! Any thoughtful planning for time to spend together is appreciated.

Are you into smart guys? Why or why not?
I'm am totally drawn to smart guys! There's nothing more alluring and sexy than a man that is educated and can offer me a good challenge! I've noticed the conversations are more interesting and hardly get dull. I can't stand a guy that doesn't know how to talk about or focus on other things besides himself or materialistic things.

Are you into art or photography? Who’s your favorite artist?
My favorite artist is Diego Rivera. I just love his paintings! I was introduced to his work In high school. I used to be very in touch with my Mexican culture. I found myself in a phase of reading Chicano literature as well as viewing and visiting our local gallery, La Raza Galeria, to satisfy the curiosity of my roots. When I look at Diego Rivera's paintings, I can't help but imagine and attempt to feel what his subject is thinking and feeling in the moment he painted them.

What was your favorite subject in school? Why that one?
Oh, I had two! My favorite subjects in school were psychology and sociology. I know everyone is unique and different but I've always wanted to know and understand how and why people think and act the way they do. Like, what makes people tick? So when I actually got the opportunity, I found it so interesting to observe and study human behavior individually and as groups. I think everyone should take a few of these courses in school, maybe it will help people be more understanding toward one another. A step toward world peace? Long shot I know.

LEAH, 2009 SEMIFINALIST

Are you into smart guys?
Yes!  I love smart men.  I like to be able to talk to a man who knows what he is talking about and can even teach me a few things.

Do you like live theater?
I think that I would enjoy a live theater show, but I have never been to one. There you go guys, that would be a good date to impress me.

If you could go to any museum in the world, which one would it be?
I would love to go to a museum in Italy or Rome. I'm Italian and I enjoy learning about the Italian culture. I have never been to either of those places and would love to check it out one day.

What was your favorite subject in school? Why that one?
I really enjoyed history. I was good at it, the subject kept me interested and I always got good grades which was a plus.
