Hey, suspicious-looking males in your mid-twenties that like to congregate in front of my place of residence: You're on notice.

That's right. With the popularity of superhero movies at its all-time highest, it was only a matter of time before real costumed crusaders began popping up in your local recreational park areas. Meet the Real Life Superheroes, ordinary citizens who, by moral obligation or just plain boredom, have committed their nighttime hours to helping their communities. While you're spending Saturday nights drinking until your girl's fat friend looks like a Perfect 10, these guys are shooing away drug dealers, stopping would-be robberies, and helping local residents in need.

The World Superhero Registry is a Web site that lists all known active crime fighters in your area, and our fears were eased at finding out that New York City has not one, but two heroes patrolling—"The Dark Guardian" and "Life." G4TV actually followed The Dark Guardian, who is a well-trained mixed martial artist, during one of his nightly walks around the park and he talked about the mysterious lifestyle:

You can't blame a guy who did some wrong in his past to want to go and make up for it. Hell, if these guys want to run around and help out their communities, then so be it. They're better than the bozos clad in half-torn costumes that roam around Hollywood Blvd. for photo ops with tourists. If you've got an itch to parade around in plastic jumpsuits, head over to RealLifeSuperheroes.org to see how you can become a knight of the dark.
