It also doesn't help he was one of the most racist men who ever drew a cartoon. Look up some of his political cartoons from the late 1930s and 40s. Not quite things you would want your kid learning from the Cat in the Hat.

some of the ACTUAL creeps in the
world have been "beautiful" and "photogenic".
The most creepy are the ones(YOU)who would,Heh,
JUDGE A BOOK BY IT's AUTHORS appearance.
Maxim IS creepy!

So, you had one actually creepy picture, which was the first one which did scare me as a kid and you went from that to an article. Sorry, everything after the first picture was just lame, not scary. Way to go Maxim.

The boy on A.A. Milne's lap is actually his son, the now-famous Christopher Robin, whom he wrote Winnie the Pooh for.

This whole article is ridiculous. Way to pass judgment and sculpt other peoples judgment of these story tellers. I'm curious, what do you look like, oh author oh author. Perhaps you look like a fake Ken doll in a suit oh so pristine, with your eyebrows plucked and groomed. Does one not care the work that was created by these minds? Truly some beautiful work. If you want to protect your children from creeps, don't let them read Maxim.

God this article made me sick. How could you write such crap about such brilliant writers? Whoever put this list together is a creepy ass hat, who will never write anything good for as long as they live.

Yeah! Let's judge people (even if their dead) and paint them out as creepy and freaky, jsut because of their looks!
Distasteful.

Why do you hope the boy on Milne's lap is a girl? I'm confused.

Prejudices, false information, ranting and discraceful hacking at great authors who wrote some of the best books for kids ever written
Maxim is superficial, insulting, should never be taken seriously and full of discriminating motherfuckers

Stay classy, Maxim. Hoping you knuckleheads will at least clarify that the Carroll image is a photoshop job.

Your "article" is retarded and are your "readers" eating it up. Boiling some of the most brilliant minds in children's literature to a single picture. It doesn't even have comedic value...and I should know, I'm a fucking comedian.

While we're on racist, Dr. Suess was anti-semetic. You ought to have heard some of his utterances before he died. Those he's made from the grave, I'm not sure.

In Maxim's world, everyone has to look like a freakin' underwear model to invoke a necessary level of shiny-happy-friendly-neighbor trustworthiness.
Right. I'll take the so-called "weirdos" any day of the week: people with some actual creativity and brains. Then again, I like "peculiar" looking people... just more interesting/intrigue, I guess. They've got character. But I suppose it's somewhat ironic for me to be raging against the superficiality of society in the comments on a site like Maxim. :) ah well

I can't match up Shel Silverstein's picture with his voice. I remember the audio recordings of him reading his poems from Where the Sidewalk Ends. I cannot imagine the man in that picture reading about Sarah Sylvia Cynthia Stout. This has nothing to do with anybody being creepy or anyhing like that, I would love to see him speak on camera, so I can match it up.

You have one ucked up mind.
She is sitting on his knees.
Also, like all children she is not looking in the camera when she is supposed to. This is why he is looking too concentrated, because he knows the importance of it and she, as a child does not.
