We’re lucky if a full day consists of showering and getting dressed before dark. Then there’s the plight of Monty Brogan (Edward Norton), who has to juggle hanging with his best buds from high school (Barry Pepper and Philip Seymour Hoffman) and his jiggling girlfriend (Rosario Dawson) for one last night before getting shipped off to prison for the next seven years. Since this is, as the kids are saying these days, a Spike Lee Joint, there are some out-of-place political tirades and post-9/11 reflection wedged into Brogan’s last free day, but these are just speed bumps along the way. Norton knows “leading man,” and Dawson is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to eye candy, so don’t be afraid to soak up these 25 hours like they were your last.
