The SEALs take Hollywood

The Pitch: A group of Navy SEALs embark on a mission to rescue a kidnapped CIA operative (Roselyn Sanchez) and uncover a much larger terrorist plot.

What It Really Is: Part message movie, part Call of Duty: The Film. While it focuses heavily on sacrifice, Act of Valor is shot like a video game. You’ll find player profiles, views through the crosshairs and map graphics as the real-life SEALs go from mission to mission. This makes for a contradictory approach -- one minute it’s all fun wham-bam action and the other it’s serious and sad. Oh, and about those real-life SEALs: It’s a cool idea, but a few more seasoned actors might’ve helped. Especially in the voice-over department. Ready-Made Press Blurb: “We haven’t seen a better Navy SEALs movie since Navy Seals starring Charles Sheen!” -

Who’s It For: Conspiracy theorists who need a new terrorist plot to freak out about, people bent on “keeping it real,” dads who need something new to quote besides Top Gun

Studio: The Bandito Brothers
