After the Sunset asks Double-O Brosnan Steele Crown to dust off his British charm, gray stubble, and grayer chest hair for one last trip to the jewelers in this costume heist flick. The action smashes through the opening credits, as Max (Pierce Brosnan) and Lola (mmmm…Salma Hayek) swipe the second of three Napoleon diamonds right out from under a rival (an FBI agent played by Woody Harrelson). But when the couple hits the Bahamas for retirement, neither amorous Lola nor a full bank account can keep Max happy. Add the temptation of the third-remaining Napoleon diamond on a nearby cruise ship and the FBI agent on his tail, and Max starts jonesing for one last swindle. Watching the pasty Brit continually pass on Hayek's bikini-clad advances mars the story's credibility, and their complete lack of chemistry makes watching them kiss more difficult than watching your sister make out with your mom. Saving the only other action for the finale, the story unravels into a continuous loop of brooding Brosnan and under-the-sheets sex scenes—leaving us all too versed in the art of the rip-off.
