The best thing about After the Sunset is that it was written with one purpose in mind: to show Salma Hayek’s hugetastic rack in a variety of skimpy swimsuits in the Bahamas. (Not bad for 38 years old, eh? 38! Christ!) Sure, there’s some retread plot about stealing a diamond in there, but if plots were so important, they’d give a Nobel Prize for screenwriting. The standout extras on the DVD are an interview with a real-life jewel thief and a feature-length documentary about the making of the movie, because it contains more footage of Salma on the beach. Alas, the other features are like having phone sex with the dial tone—they’re one-note, predictable, and leave you longing for more Salma.
