Unlike the rest of Fox's anemic cartoon-free comedies, Arrested Development forgoes the laugh track in favor of the real thing. The second season of the sitcom follows the Bluthswho make the Mansons appear functional by comparisonthrough comically ripe situations like trial procedings, extramarital affairs, and fake deaths. The extras on this three-disc set are the perfect complement for the funniest half-hour on TV. Cast and crew commentary tracks are actually enjoyable to listen tonot so much for their information, but for the groups' ability to shamelessly rip on each other's performances. The deleted scenes keep pace with what wound up on the air, including mayonnaise chugging contests and barehanded seal hunting, while the blooper reel is the most entertaining mix of slips, flubs, and expletives since last Sunday's 49ers game.
