3. Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
Watch closely the original trailer, and see you will C-3PO ripping a yellow sign off a door of the Hoth snow base. The sign was meant to warn of Wampas (like the big Yeti thing that attacks Luke Skywalker) on the other side, but was the only piece shot of a sequence involving Stormtroopers mistakenly opening the door and getting mauled that never made the final film. Evidently because it was way too badass.

2. Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy
The first ad for Will Ferrell's '70s-themed vanity project hinted at an ending that in no way involved pregnant pandas, killer grizzlies, or Tim Robbins. Instead, we see Ron heroically diving in front of a bullet meant for Veronica Corningstone. "You took a bullet for me!" she squeals. His response is classic: "And I would not do that again. It hurts like a mother!"

1. True Lies
James Cameron is a notorious tinkerer (we let him have a look at our car once and now it only starts if we scream at it), so it's no wonder several things show up in the first True Lies trailer that never otherwise saw the light of day. An unusually cheerful (but still one-eyed) Charlton Heston yapping into the phone to the Oval Office: "Mr. President, one of our best men is inside." Then there's a brief glimpse of Tia Carrere ready to lay one on Harry's Renqvist at the opening party scene, and Tom Arnold imploring Arnie to "listen to the following code word: Helen. H-E-L-E-N." All were cut.
