Freddie Prinze Jr. alert: Men—true men—will take the Prinze presence in any movie as a reason to avoid it (excepting, of course, flicks like I Know What You Did Last Summer and its sequel, where teen-heartthrob Fredster is sufficiently balanced by the ample weight of Jennifer Love Hewitt’s bazooms). And if the marquee is not enough, to hear this man utter the phrase, “Get ready for comedy,” should have you running like you’ve never run before. Sitting through Boys and Girls is like being forced to read Teen People cover-to-cover at gunpoint.

The only thing more disappointing than the inane plot of this collegiate cheesefest is the tease that Claire Forlani will bare the essentials. Unfortunately, Boys and Girls is straight-up PG-13, which pretty much kills any hope for a boinkfest finale. The flick follows a Who’s The Boss? courtship formula: Boy randomly meets girl. Again. And again. And again. Their mutual dislike leads them, of course, to dating. They go clubbing, taking center stage to perform a dance number to a “Car Wash” remix while being doused with soap suds. (Yes, you read that right.)

Dump this movie like your high school girlfriend; it makes you listen to processed cheese-food music, its dialogue is a chore to sit through, and it doesn’t put out.
