Chronic character actor Philip Seymour Hoffman steps into an Oscar-winning portrayal of famous New Yorker scribe Truman Capote during the writer's quest to piece together his "true crime novel," In Cold Blood. With little action and lots of dialogue, the riveting flick is held together by Hoffman's meticulous performance. A pair of traditional commentary tracks grouped with a behind-the-scenes making-of documentary discuss the filmmaking process. But the most intriguing footage is in "Answered Prayers," which includes an old interview with the author flaunting what should've been nominated for best supporting actor: that shrill falsetto accent.
