Before Dave Chappelle went crazy—um…that is, to South Africa—he took his sketch comedy show further than any other with his own brand of racially insensitive hysterics. Season two assaulted us with uncanny portrayals of Rick James, Lil' Jon, and Prince, as well as the racial draft and The Wayne Brady Show's Wayne Brady choking bitches. And yet somehow, the DVD slings even more original laughs, with extra stand-up footage of Dave goofing off before the studio audience, riffing on everything from Soul Train to Rosie O'Donnell's underwear. The hour-plus bloopers and outtakes section features material that's even funnier than the aired sketches and includes commentary with Chappelle and series co-creator Neal Brennan. If you haven't already had enough of the more talented Murphy brother's outlandish adventures in La La Land, there are two more "Charlie Murphy True Hollywood Stories." For music fans, there's also the entire, unedited Rick James interview about licking girls faces, going upside the head, and that helluva drug, providing exactly the type of poignant, posthumous send-off the man deserves.
