Before Kevin Smith was reduced to deleting J.Lo cameos from his Ben Affleck vehicles, he represented the ultimate career dream for an indie film director (convenience store register jockey). Clerks was the no-budget hit that propelled Smith into Hollywood social circles, and now he's celebrating his big break with a loaded 10th anniversary DVD. Everything you ever wanted to know about the movie, and way more than you ever needed to know about the director, is included on this three-disc set. The classic commentary track from 1995 features Smith and the rest of the cast, including a supremely wasted Jason Mewes (the "Jay" in Jay and Silent Bob), busting balls from the set of Mallrats. Other notables include a new short film featuring clerks Dante and Randal on the value of the world's first flying car, the whole catalog of Jay and Silent Bob MTV spots, and the first cut of the flick, with a new commentary track. Then there's the motherload for obsessive Clerks fanatics: "The Snowball Effect," an entire disc unto itself, chronicles how the movie came together, from New Jersey to Sundance, and charts Smith's development from chubby kid with a Star Wars T-shirt to full-grown chubby adult with a Star Wars T-shirt.
