After being attacked by unknown assailants, fun-loving janitor Jake (Cedric the Entertainer) loses his grip on life and forgets who he is. Soon he is caught up in some sort of conspiracy plot (don't ask), chased by bad guys who believe he is a secret agent. Along the way he gets involved with a real agent played by Lucy Liu, a waitress who is really an undercover FBI operative. When not laughing at Jake's antics, she pursues those who would do him wrong including luscious rival Nicollette Sheridan. This is all meant to be a comedic take on the Bourne Identity movies, but along the way someone forgot to add the laughs. "Hey, I'm just like a black Rambo," Jake tells Liu. "Yeah, Blambo," she cleverly replies. Ouch. Liu (who needs a new agent) and Sheridan may be hot but simply are not funny under any circumstance. Cedric the Entertainer is funny, but not here. We've seen plenty of comedians do fish-out-of-water stuff a hundred times, but the filmmakers have strung poor Cedric out there without a net, or in this case a script. This is the kind of movie where everyone in it looks like they are having a lot more fun than the audience, which is a shame since Cedric is enormously (!) likeable. Even the obligatory outtakes over the final credits are deadly dull. Be warned: the holidays may be over, but this turkey is still warm.
