Completely underestimated by every smarmy know-it-all murderer he encounters, Columbo has always been one of the best TV detectives of all time because he outsmarts his suspects by acting like a bumbling idiot. This collection, which could be considered the eighth season, has five movie-length episodes. While that seems puny, you should know that Columbo wasn't a typical weekly show, so a season is comprised of the TV movies running around 90 minutes each that aired during that year. Like all the previous collections, it's amazing how smart and fun this show continues to be. Watching Peter Falk get the upper hand with his "oh, just one more thing" line never gets old. Unlike Falk, who's probably around 120 years old if he's still alive. (If he is, stay strong, Pete!) Universal also included an "America's Top Sleuths" countdown, which is better than "bonus episodes" that were thrown onto previous collections. What's even better is that after you're done watching them you can pack 'em back up and regift them for Father's Day.
