In Constantine, Keanu Reeves battles inner demons, and some far creepier looking computer-generated spirits, on his way to redemption. This dark comic book adaptation tracks the chain-smoking John Constantine (Reeves) as he cleans up the City of Angels in return for a ticket into heaven, and the extras come packing even more heat on a second disc. "Holy Relics" enters the weapons room for a rundown and history of the demon hunter's vast arsenal, including holy-water grenades, the spear of destiny, and a piece-by-piece assembly of the holy shotgun. "Constantine Cosmology" mines history for the origins and myths of evil corresponding to JC's journey as a fallen hero, while "Imagining the Underworld" is an exposition on how the filmmakers re-envisioned hell. (Step one: insert Celine Dion CD
) Deleted scenes offer little, and an alternate ending is imperceptibly different without accompanying commentary, but if you still crave more insight from the dark side, "Conjuring Constantine" gets DC Comics' creators to explain the process of transforming the two-dimensional characters on the page to the one-dimensional Reeves on film.
