Curious George

Producer, and big Curious George fan, Ron Howard helps shape the traditional animation techniques, Will Ferrell and Drew Barrymore voice overs, and tuneful Jack Johnson score to strike the perfect tone in this children's book adaptation. In a CGI age, critics are bound to complain that it all looks like a Saturday morning cartoon, but that's part of it's charm. For those who grew up loving the books, the Man in the Yellow Hat now has a name, Ted, and a mission: go on a jungle expedition to bring back a giant idol that will save his natural history museum. Once in Africa, he meets George, who stows away and causes no end of grief when he gets back to the states. Brightly drawn and designed for young kids, this mellow yellow flick might even work for their nostalgic parents curious for a new millenium George of their own.
