In the world of badass bitches, Eva Dandridge (Gabrielle Union) is the No. 1 stunna. The only thing she likes better than putting men in their place is meddling in her three sisters’ business. Eva, who spends nearly the entire movie scowling like a pit bull, makes you just wish some smooth player would come along and turn her bitch-frown upside-down (and on its back, and on its stomach…). Enter LL Cool J, stretching here a bit to play a lip-licking ladies’ man named Ray. The husbands and fiancée of the younger Dandridge sisters, tired of Eva “bling-blingin’ with [their] nuts”—metaphorically speaking, of course—pay Ray to distract Eva with some of his masta-playa TLC. But along the way, this rock-hard mack fools around and falls in love. If for some reason you’re interested in yet another rom-com this season, there’s enough “urban” sassiness in Deliver Us to keep things hot. Plus, those Dandridge sisters are fiiiine.
