The Skinny: Miami PD blood-splatter expert and smoothest serial killer on the planet Dexter Morgan struggles with his identity, two girlfriends, a crushing investigation that could expose his gory hobby, and his ever-present urge to kill. If you thought the first season was groundbreaking, Season Two tops it.
The Good: The story line is so intense that it's impossible to turn off. And Michael C. Hall was born to play Dexter, the most interesting character on TV. The secondary characters, who were weak during the first season (a.k.a. overacting angry black guy, annoying bumbling sister), keep up with Hall throughout all 12 episodes this time.
The Bad: We have to wait a year for Season Three on DVD. The new episodes start airing in a month, but a show this great needs to be consumed in marathon fashion, not week to week.
Best Extra: Tragically, there aren't any except a few episodes of Brotherhood, cast bios, and some photos.
