When John Travolta is the most compelling actor in a movie, you know youre in trouble. (And we can remember having such high hopes for Vince Vaughn.) Whatever the excuse for this waste of good, hard American cash, we would like to offer one small suggestion: In predictable thrillers such as these, where there is a final struggle in which the bad guy chases the family around the house and must be killed multiple times to conquer his super-human vitality, would it be so horrible to let the villain win? If the movie ended with Travolta & Co. crumpled on the floor by the power of the bad mans crowbar, at least we could have left with something to chat about.
