Most stand-ups have issues, and the perpetually squiggling Dr. Katz sits down to analyze the most anal comedians. He might not solve their problems, but he does extract their best material, and season one lies down on the couch with Ray Romano and Dave Attell. Aside from six episodes, the DVD also offers up the early shorts that birthed the bizarrely animated series and several commentary tracks with the stand-up patients who pile on the laughs. The disturbingly informative "Biography of Dr. Katz" wraps up the extras by putting the wisecracking shrink on the other side of the notebook, where he discusses everything from childhood beatings to purchasing junkie urine.
