The Skinny: It's Superbad-light with three high school freshman hiring a bodyguardin this case, a homeless Army deserterto protect them from bullies.
The Good: The main kids aren't that bad; Owen Wilson plays his typical laid-back self; and it's written by Seth Rogen, so it has some genuinely funny moments.
The Bad: Unlike Superbad, this is PG-13; and you can tell it's holding back. (The DVD says "unrated," but it's still very tame.) It's also too long and gets frustrating; we all know where it's going, so quit drawing it out and just get there already.
Best Extra: Even though they pack this disc with a lot of special features, the only ones worth checking out are the Gag Reel and an interview with Rogen. This is also available on Blu-ray, but is completely unnecessary in that format unless you like to watch fat and nerdy children in dazzling 1080p.
Cool Factoid: The final fight scene takes place in front of the Lethal Weapon house. Okay, that's pretty awesome.
