The Larry Sanders Show—The Entire First Season

The Larry Sanders Show first season DVD collection doesn’t need any extras because it was one of the best shows ever (save the hate mail—The Simpsons are right up there, too). Instead of extensive behind-the-scenes stuff (there is one featurette, but it’s nothing special), all you really get here are the shows themselves. If you’re a fan, you’ll immediately understand the five-star rating for such a bare-bones collection. If you’ve never seen it, here are the basics, before you run out and buy it: Larry Sanders (Garry Shandling) is an egotistical asshole of a talk show host; Artie (Rip Torn) is a battle-hardened, yet classy, producer; and Hank (Jeffrey Tambor) is a totally talentless sidekick. Much hilarity ensues. While it would have been nice to have some extras, this is a rare occasion in which just having the show is enough.
