And 1 Mixtape Volume 5

In White Men Can’t Jump, Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes were supposed to be street-basketball players who could play ball as well they could run their yaps. With Volume 5, And 1 continues to put out the best in real highlights of the same thing. Following the And 1 Tour across the country, street-ball vets like Skip to My Lou and Main Event put on a show on any blacktop they can find. The flashy basketball highlights fit perfectly with the solid hip-hop soundtrack, but the other features make this DVD worth owning. While you can tell from the footage—which has improved dramatically since this mixtape series began—that these guys are out there to make themselves look good and their opponents look bad, the self-promotion is taken to a new level with the tour bus interviews, profiles, and all around shit-talking. Each player has his own highlight reel and interview session, which makes the main footage easier to follow. Add in the most horrible (read: highly entertaining) freestyle attempt by some of the bored team members on the back of the bus, and this DVD has most everything you could need to join the fun without breaking a sweat.
