A well-done, straight-forward documentary, Dogtown and Z-Boys follows the rise of the Zephyr skateboarding teamand skateboarding as a wholebeginning with Venice, California, in the 70s. The DVD is equally direct, with few extra features. The highlight of the extra clips comes from the raw skate footage: the original Zephyr team members still skating in pools and doing photo shoots like the punks they used to be. Unfortunately, were given too little extra footage and the remaining special features are pretty standardtrailers, production notes, scene selection. For such a good movie, the DVD doesnt deliver enough to make it a better experience.
