Pierce Brosnan ushers in Bond, franchise Bond’s fourth decade in fitting fashion in Die Another Day, craftily running through tropical locales and tropical women while still finding time to save the world. (We’re just hoping to have most of our teeth by the time we reach 40.) The two-disc special-edition DVD has plenty for all Bond, film, and just plain geeks to enjoy, beginning with commentary by the star of the last five flicks, in which he dispenses delightfully self-deprecating sound bites like “There I am,” when he appears on-screen. Halle Berry’s tribute to classic Bond bikinis gets the kind of detailed treatment demanded of so spare an homage—Brosnan chips in here as well, noting how seeing Berry in her Dr. No throwbacks made him “forget to act.” You can also go behind the scenes of specific missions from the movie, view action sequences from different camera angles, and get gadget briefings on all of the technology that has helped make James Bond The Man for the past 40 years. Speaking of which, has anyone seen our switchblade personal jet glider? Our carpool is gonna be so pissed!
