An undisputed American classic is finally presented for the first time in widescreen, marking the 20th anniversary of the first time the Griswolds packed their bags. For fans it’ll bring back memories of a time when Christie Brinkley was the hottest woman in the world and Chevy Chase was actually funny. For nonfans, well, you’re no longer welcome in this country—the moose out front shoulda told ya. Extras include an introduction by Chevy Chase, Randy Quaid, and producer Matty Simmons; commentary by director Harold Ramis and the Griswold family; and hidden mini-features. The highlight: locating the loving tribute to the metallic pea Wagon Queen Family Truckster, which Simmons calls an effort to make “the worst car ever.”
